Mitre 10 Papamoa took out this year's Mitre 10 Store of the Year plaudits, while the accolade of top MEGA went to Mitre 10 MEGA Napier.
It’s the second time the Papamoa store has taken out the top prize in four nominations and store co-owners Brian and Loretta Johnstone were quick to praise the efforts of their team for their hard work and dedication to customer service.
“I like to think that Papamoa knows we work hard to deliver the best service possible for our customers,” says Loretta.
This is the second time Mitre 10 MEGA Napier has received the top MEGA award, and General Manager Retail, Rodger van der Gulik, says it’s a proud accomplishment for the store.
“The competition for these awards is really tough, so two wins in three years must mean we’re doing something right,” he says.
Mitre 10 MEGA Napier store owners, Graeme & Stephen Ricketts, were also quick to praise the efforts of Mr van der Gulik, Store Manager Todd Donaldson and the whole Napier team for the award win.
Dave Richards of recently refurbished Mitre 10 Motueka (right with Mitre 10 CEO Neil Cowie) was honoured with the CEO Achievement Award.
In terms of the trade facing awards, it's the third time Mitre 10 Wanaka has been recognised for the quality of its trade service as Mitre 10’s Trade Store of the Year.
This makes three wins in four nominations for the store and Mitre 10 Wanaka Store Manager, Mark Watson, says he’s very proud of his team.
“Winning for a third time really confirms that we’re doing something right. Everyone in the trade team exemplifies a great work ethic and attention to customer service so it’s really gratifying to see it recognised at a national level.”
Relative newby, Mitre 10 MEGA Westgate, scooped MEGA Trade Store of the Year.
Mitre 10 MEGA Westgate co-owners, Dave and Elaine Hargreaves, say it’s great to be recognised for the team’s hard work, focus on service quality and understanding of their local market.
“Our Trade Manager, Neil Race, has shown exceptional leadership skills and has done a great job guiding our knowledgeable trade team to new heights with his insight on trade and customer service experience,” says Dave Hargreaves.
“Trade has been a key focus of the store since we opened and our efforts are definitely paying off as we continue to grow our trade customer base each year.”
