The BuildLink Group moved to the provinces for the annual Conference and Supplier Trade Show.

The Wairakei Resort Taupo provided the backdrop to the event, which was themed around growing business, and involved 32 stores and over 120 members and group suppliers.

The first day of the event involved the group members taking part in a series of workshops designed to help develop better business techniques and add strength to their operations, as well as better understanding key aspects of the BuildLink and supplier product programmes.

The diversity of the members enabled a great interaction and sharing of ideas and topics included the BuildLink buildings offer, websites and social media marketing, rewards programmes, how to improve customers’ in-store experience and maximising cash flow.

The Trade Show is proving to be an integral part of the conference these days and saw a record number of 58 suppliers get the chance to reinforce their brands and products with members and show some of the new products coming through.

Says BuildLink GM, Mike Bishop: “Our group meeting was very positive and there were some excellent takeaways for the co-op.

“We had a lot of discussion about the ‘next step’ and also about planned growth – regardless of market fluctuations.

“Overall the board and members provided a very positive outlook for the group and we are excited about what the future brings.”

“Around the World” was the theme of the annual Awards Dinner and members, guests and suppliers alike got right into the spirit of the night with a fine array of attire on display.

Tim Shadbolt, aka His Honour the Mayor of Invercargill, presided over the event and his dry wit and humour of went down extremely well, as the photos attest!
