GIB’s new plasterboard jointing tape

Coloured yellow for easy identification, GIB RocTape is a new way to reinforce flat GIB plasterboard joints. Jointing tapes are an important component in GIB Systems and provide critical joint strength between plasterboard sheets, so selecting the appropriate tape is important. GIB RocTape is a matt fibreglass joint tape which achieves superior mechanical strength for flat joint applications. Because GIB jointing compounds can permeate through the GIB RocTape matt, creating a very strong joint, there is less risk of cosmetic defects and fewer call backs, saving time and money. Joints reinforced with GIB RocTape also dry faster and do not swell or shrink due to water absorption. Adhesion failure is also reduced because compound easily penetrates the fibreglass matt so there is always adequate compound application under the tape. GIB RocTape is bedded in similar to GIB Paper joint tape and can be installed using hand tools or mechanical tools. Both GIB RocTape and GIB Paper joint tape are suitable for use in all GIB Systems.
