Having partnered with top private equity fund KKR (read about the deal earlier this year here), the Hitachi Koki power tool business is "positioning itself for significant expansion via organic growth and new acquisitions".
At the same time comes the reveal of a strategic change in brand name.
Effective October 2018, Hitachi Koki will change its power tool brand from Hitachi to Hikoki.
All existing product designs and models remain unchanged, but with the new brand applied.
With more than 2,500 patents, impending new product launches, along with the recent acquisition of German power tool innovator Metabo (and further acquisitions planned), the new Hikoki brand name will "encompass these developments and drive the company to even greater success".
Locally, Accent Tools says it will be "taking this significant opportunity to further grow our local business and challenge the market with never before seen product development, starting with new technology gasless nailers for the construction industry and a revolutionary next generation of cordless power tools."
So, stay tuned, there's more to come!
