Here are a handful of the more interesting new products that will be on show at the 2018 International Home + Housewares Show in Chicago over 10-13 March this year. Visit www.housewares.org for more detailed information.

Fissler cookware (Booth #S3440) – Fissler’s SensoRed pans use a thermo-sensitive non-stick coating to indicate the ideal frying temperature. When the optimal frying temperature has been reached, the interior surface of the SensoRed pan darkens as a visual indication of the ideal time to cook your food.

Also new are Vitavit premium pressure cookers; a pressure control system, settings for speed and gentle cooking plus an additional steam setting and the locking indicator on the lid ensure a cooking experience that is not only efficient but nutritious and delicious.

Cangshan Cutlery (Booth #S437) – Cangshan will have a large range of knives and knife blocks on show. Take the TAI Knife Block which is crafted from Walnut, or the DENALI Knife Block in Maple which is in three separate parts firmly anchored to one another by strong magnets.

The TC Series knives feature a slim, sleek handle and simple, smooth lines with a uniquely tapered tang for comfort and balance and Sandvik steel means the knives stay sharp for longer. S+ Series knives are also sleek and slim but with vivid colours to contrast with the black Titanium coated blade.

Twisted Wares housewares (Booth #N8513) – The loop design of Twisted Wares’ original product, the Hang Tight Kitchen Towel, means it can be hung from anything you want to secure them to by using the loop, with which they then hang tight! Using 100% cotton premium flour sack fabric, the product is large, super absorbent and great for drying dishes, baking bread, etc.

Since that first product, the brand’s pop culture sense of humour has spread to new housewares and other gift items from aprons, to cocktail napkins, to T-shirts and more, to the point where Twisted Wares’ products are sold in 1,500+ stores throughout North America.

OPCOM indoor growing systems (Booth #L13041) – Taiwanese company OPCOM will have a range of smart indoor growing systems on show.

They range in scale from the OPCOM Farm which combines hydroponics, natural LED lighting and automation with smartphone connection and control, to the more modest GrowFrame which can either be placed on a or hung on the wall as a garden decoration/ living art, like an air purifier can bring fresh air.

Somewhere in the middle in terms of scale is the GrowWall (see photo), whose space-saving, vertical “garden wall” design caters for up to 75 vegetables and herbs on five different levels. GrowWall could even provide striking decoration in an office, classroom or restaurant.

Zoku products (Booth #N8507) – New Jersey company Zoku is introducing its first Vacuum Insulated Stainless Steel Bottle. This bottle keeps drinks piping hot or icy cold for longer. The leak-proof sleek double-walled 18/8 stainless steel bottle has an easy-grip cap and paracord and comes in a variety of bright colours and sizes and is BPA and phthalate free and has patents pending.

Also at the show will be Zoku’s new and brightly coloured Mod Pops for making up to six iceblocks in the freezer. Designed for easy cleaning and use, the set features removable moulds and reusable sticks with drip guards to make eating neater. Mod Pops are BPA and phthalate free, with patents pending.
