James Hardie Industries has announced Dr Jack Truong, the Company’s President - International since April 2017, as the successor to Louis Gries, who has been CEO since 2005.

Dr Truong will continue to be based out of North America and a six month handover period has been established, during which time Louis Gries will remain in the CEO role and Jack Truong will become President and Chief Operating Officer responsible for running the Group’s global business.

Jack Truong currently has responsibility for the Asia Pacific Fiber Cement and Europe Building Products businesses.

Screwfix success stories promoted

Other changes at the top this last week include the announcement that Screwfix CEO, Graham Bell, is moving to consumer land to head up Kingfisher Group stablemate B&Q.

Succeeding Christian Mazauric, who moves to head up Kingfisher's French operations, Bell has spent 20 years at Kingfisher in senior roles.

Having started at B&Q in operational roles, he moved to Screwfix in 2006 where he led Operations and Property for 10 years before being appointed CEO in 2017.

At Screwfix, he has overseen the rapid and super-successful expansion of the Screwfix network.

Also reflecting the Kingfisher trade banner's success is John Mewett, who has been promoted as the new CEO of Screwfix.

Celebrating his 10th year with Kingfisher this year, Merrett started out at Screwfix in marketing and IT and has most recently been Kingfisher's Group Digital Director.
