Over the years, the specifier market (by which we mean architects, designers and developers) will have got used to being informed about higher value products through resources like Productspec etc.
Alongside these digital resources, however, there has always remained an element of bricks & mortar, physical places where you can be informed about, see and touch these products, such as the roles played by facilities like the Home Ideas Centres and others.
Now Bunnings, following a model already rolled out in Brisbane, is getting serious about the specifier market and this month will be rolling out its first physical facility specifically designed to inform these influencers about specialist and higher value products.
Details of the new facility are scarce but the following was kindly furnished by Bunnings Group across the ditch:
What is the new Auckland facility called?
Bunnings Solution Studio.
When is it opening?
We will open in late February.
What drove the choice of site (Penrose, Auckland)?
The site was chosen due to its central Auckland location with good access & close proximity to a number of our stores.
What is its purpose?
To showcase some of our suppliers' specialist products and ranges that may not be in stores as well as some new innovative building products.
Who is the target market?
Commercial and residential builders, developers and specifiers.
Is there an existing model for this new project in Australia?
We currently have a Bunnings Solution Studio in Brisbane.
How does this new facility fit into Bunnings’ broader strategy?
The Studio has been specifically designed for our trade & commercial customers and complements our Warehouse, Store and Trade Centre offers.
Look out for more detail in our March magazine, by which time the new Bunnings Solution Studio will have opened for business...
