A second Bunnings site is well in train for the southern end of the Tron.

Construction of the new Bunnings Warehouse for South Hamilton is now well underway with local building firm Livingstone Building for the $24.7 million development.

Bunnings Warehouse South Hamilton will be located on the corner of Kahikatea Drive (SH2) and Quentin Drive, between Frankton and Melville, and is expected to open late this year.

Once completed, the new store will have a total area of more than 11,340m2, covering the main store, indoor timber trade sales area, building materials and landscape supplies yard and outdoor nursery.

The new store will also include an indoor playground and cafe, and provide parking for almost 270 cars.

Bunnings Warehouse South Hamilton will include energy and water saving design features including LED lighting and rainwater harvesting tanks that will be used to irrigate the nursery and service the Warehouse’s amenities.

The new site is the other side of Lake Rotoroa from PlaceMakers Clarence Street, while the existing Bunnings Warehouse site is on Te Rapa Road, along with Mitre 10 MEGA, PlaceMakers, Mico, Carters et al.
