January finds new faces in new places at ITM, Mitre 10 NZ and Animates Vetcare plus NZ Safety Blackwoods farewells a loyal team member.

Liz Aitken is joining Mitre 10 NZ at Support Centre on 17 January in the role of Category Manager for Kitchens & Appliances. Liz is passionate about colour and design, has a strong background in the construction, manufacturing, interior design and kitchen industries and has contributed to articles in NZ Hardware Journal in the past so you may know of her already. Liz comes to Mitre 10 after six years in a similar role at Placemakers, nine years with Goode Industries and earlier roles with TDC, Joint Cabinet Makers, Fineline Kitchens, and Meltec Industries. Bob Dalzell has farewelled NZ Safety Blackwoods' North Harbour Trade Centre after no less than 60 years' service. Bob started work with Charles Palmer & Co on 11 December 1961, since when the company has been bought, sold, renamed and merged and five years ago was renamed NZ Safety Blackwoods. Asked what kept him with the same company for 60 years, Bob laughs: “It’s the industry, the people, the company values – everything! When you have good managers, someone to talk to with an open-door policy, it makes working a pleasure." Happy retirement Bob!

Last but not least, welcome Sara Johnson , ITM's new General Manager of Marketing & Communications. Sara comes to the role armed with almost a decade of marketing and comms experience, most recently with Mike Pero Mortgages & Mike Pero Real Estate. In related news, ITM's National Marketing Manager Juliana Raven is now on maternity leave and we wish Juliana all the very best with this "personal project".
